PCFWE – Proxim Fixed Wireless Network Engineering Certification

Proxim Fixed Wireless Network Engineering Certification

PCFWE – Advanced Design, Deployment and Operation Course

The fixed wireless network engineering course is designed to build on the knowledge gained in the PCFWE course and the hands-on field experience the students bring to the course. This course assumes each student has basic RF system and wireless network knowledge combined with practical skills from deployment and operational experience in the field. This course will attempt to elevate these skills to the level of the Fixed Wireless Network Engineer.

Topics covered in this course are not as rigid as the Associate technician course and the instructor will focus on the areas of Wireless Networking each student needs most. All content in this course is designed for advanced network deployment and operation.

This course uses both classroom-based simulation and field-based hands-on network scenarios providing students with real challenges and real field experiences.

Core Topics Covered include:

Integrating PtP Backhaul and Multipoint Wireless Design

Advanced switch configurations to meet modern network integration requirements.

Considerations and Best Practices for operation in the 5 GHz DFS Spectrum

Wireless Network Best Practices:

  • Advanced RF planning and multi-frequency channel mapping
  • Advanced Integration Configuration – Functionality and Capability
  • Deployment Optimization and advanced Troubleshooting
  • Network Upgrades and Scaling techniques
  • Producing Network Design and Deployment Documentation
